Sarnia New Home Starts Up in 2016.

From Paul Morden, the Sarnia Observer.

The number of building permits for single family homes issued in Sarnia grew in 2016.

There were a total of 147 new home starts in the city during the year that just ended, compared to 124 in 2015, according to Alan Shaw, the city's director of planning, building and bylaw enforcement.

New housing starts in the city generally fall in the range of 125 to 150, annually, Shaw said.

“That's a good indicator, as to the local economy,” he added.
