Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race Sunday Morning.

About 80 canoes and kayaks will be out on the Sydenham River Sunday morning.

St. Clair Region Conservation Authority is once again hosting its annual Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race.

Education Coordinator Sharon Nethercott says they expect about 160 people on the water Sunday morning, with registration set for 10am and the race getting underway at 11am.

She says it’s a great opportunity for people to get outdoors and take in some local scenery.

“The Sydenham is a beautiful river, it’s the only river that’s entirely (in the) Carolinian zone.
It’s a great spot to do some bird watching and check out all the wildlife.”

Bluewater Granfondo Garners National Attention.

The Bluewater International Granfondo is gaining some national attention.

Despite entering just its second year, it was listed as the 11th best granfondo in Canada by granfondoguide.com.

The 2017 edition is on August 6, and features a scenic 50 km, 100 km and 150 km routes through Lambton County

Tourism Sarnia-Lambton’s Vicky Praill says the designation is a real feather in their cap.

Dirty Dash Got Some Legs.

Sarnia's Dirty Dash continues to have legs – and it's hoping to add a few hundred more pairs this year.

Organizers of the annual Sarnia-Lambton Rebound fundraiser have opened registration up to 1,000 people this year – up from 750 in 2016 – in order to meet growing public interest in the five-kilometre mud run through Canatara Park.

Since its inception in 2015, the Assante Dirty Dash for Rebound has sold out every year within weeks of registration being opened to the public, said Jack Poirier, fund development and marketing coordinator for Sarnia-Lambton Rebound.

Registration opened earlier this month for this year's event set for June 10.

“We have 400 people right now registered, and we're not even two weeks in,” Poirier said, noting he's encouraging anyone interested in participating this year to register early to avoid being wait listed.

In addition to more spots, Dirty Dash will see this year an update to its course with the addition of some new challenges, including a foam obstacle.

Whether it was selling mutual funds, teaching foster parents how to recruit foster parents, or working for Tony Robbins, Shirley has put more than 100 percent into every endeavour she was involved in.
