Major Expansion Begins at Lambton College.

Temporary fences and trailers are up and earth is being moved at the site of a $40-million expansion to Lambton College, a Sarnia campus set to be awash in construction for the next two years.

Southside, a London construction company, has been hired as the general contractor to oversee building the Nova Chemicals Health and Research Centre, and an Athletics and Fitness Complex.

“We're full speed ahead,” said college president Judith Morris.

The college held a ground-breaking ceremony back in June for the project, but it has taken several months for plans and tenders to be finalized, and for construction to begin.

Morris said architect McMichael Ruth has been consulting with approximately 20 user groups at the college.
