Construction on Biofuels Plant Looking Good.

From Paul Morden and the Sarnia Observer.

Construction could begin later this year on a $25-million renewable diesel fuel manufacturing plant on land at the BIOXCorporation site in St. Clair Township.

Tim Haig, president and CEO of ForgeHydrocarbons, said the new plant planned for the site on Holt Line near Sombra is expected to employ 15 to 25 people making renewable fuel from waste fats and other low value organic oils.

The 25-million litre capacity manufacturing plant is expected to use two to four acres on a 24-acre site BIOX purchased last year from Methes Energies.

BIOX is planning to spend $5 million upgrading the former Methes plant to increase its efficiency, and allow it to use a broader range of used cooking oil and rendered animals fats to make biodiesel.
